Community Initiatives

Serenity Care for Seniors is proud to be working with the community to develop initiatives such as "Inspiring Kids Today."

This project is designed to bring kids and seniors together through intergenerational mentoring, with the seniors passing onto kids their widsom, knowledge and experiences that can further help to inspire and motivate the kids to be the best they can be.

Thank you to friends, families, professionals, advertisers and sponsors who are on board (with more to come) in helping to bring this great and exciting initiative to fruition.

The Hiring Process

Introduction:
With our level of expertise in alternative family care, Serenity Care for Seniors Inc. is positioned as the GLOBAL LEADER in "Fostering Seniors" through the development of alternative family care homes in communities where there are seniors.

We offer a dynamic and exciting LIFESTYLE and CAREER opportunity to individuals & families who are interested, committed, and agree to 'foster' one (maximum two) seniors in their home...Because you Care!

You can join our network of Professional Care Associates (Caregivers) and develop an Alternative Family Care Home where you can become Certified to 'Foster' seniors in your home (an opportunity to earn an income whether you stay home or work outside of the family home). Once you have been qualified as a Professional Care Associate you can earn between $1,000.00 and $2,500.00 per month (per senior - when they are placed in your home).

Becoming a Professional Care Associate:
There has been a lot of detail, expertise, resources and care invested in developing our "Fostering Seniors" program which supports individuals & families to become Professional Care Associates.

> You get an opportunity to learn more about us at our corporate website (http://www.serenitycare.ca/)
> As part of our hiring, orientation and in-service training commitment to you, you will receive:

* An overview further explaining our "Fostering Seniors" program
* Answers to any questions you have about "Fostering Seniors"
* All the hiring forms and documents you will require (Phase 1, 2 & 3 & file documents)
* Pre-Service Orientation Information
* A Service Agreement
* A Certification
* Our reporting protocols, forms, etc
* General Procedural Guidelines for Safety (Seniors and Caregivers)
* Quality Assurance Protocols
* In-Service Training (Personal & Professional Development)
* Access to industry partners (i.e., ACN, Arbonne International, Pre-Paid Legal, etc)

The response to this opportunity has been tremendous. We are expanding our "Fostering Seniors" program and continue to hire individuals & families interested in 'fostering' a senior.

A Seven-Step Process:
Each applicant is required to participate in a thorough 7-step screening & hiring process which includes orientation...designed to equip prospective Professional Care Associates with the knowledge to consider this as a LIFESTYLE and CAREER opportunity:

Step 1:
Send an e-mail to info@serenitycare.ca outlining your interest in "Fostering" a senior in your home.

Step 2:
At your request, we will send you an Information/Application package via e-mail (or mail) to your attention. This will also include a "Letter of Interest" Form that we expect you will return to us to confirm your interest.

Please Note: There is a nominal administrative fee to process the Application and all the following important documents. We believe this is a very nominal investment in your future as you: (a) pursue a CAREER opportunity to care for a senior (or two) in your home, (b) earn an income (and still work outside as well), and (c) enhance your LIFESTYLE by giving back to our aging population through this exciting opportunity.

The administration fee is $99.00 (you will receive your own copy of the "How to Foster" Guide). Please attach your cheque to registration form that we will supply you with and mail back to our address. This is a one-time fee. This is a one-time administration fee and non-refundable.

Cheques payable to: Serenity Care for Seniors Inc.

Note: You will be issued with an official receipt for the administrative
fee which is tax- deductible.

Step 3:
We will open a file for you once we have received the "Letter of Interest" Form and the Administrative Fee. We will start your file once we receive your Application. Once we receive your Application, we will contact you to discuss moving forward in the hiring process.

Note: You can send your resume to us before you send your Application, or you can send it along with the Application (via e-mail or mail).

Step 4:
A representative of Serenity Care for Seniors Inc. is assigned to work with you to help you complete the hiring process:

Phase 1: Application, Criminal Reccord Check(s), Medical, References, etc.

Phase: Family Profile Assessment.

Phase: Hamily Home Assessment.

Introduction, Interview and Followup Meetings are scheduled as required.

Step 5:
Once the Phase 1, 2 & 3 documents have been completed all other hiring related documentation is reviewed and signed off. Once the file documentation is complete, orientation is discussed and scheduled.

Step 6:
Once the orientation is completed, the prospective Professional Care Associate (and all the necessary file documentation is complete as per Step 5) can then receive a copy of the Service Agreement. Once the Service Agreement is signed & dated by all parties, a Certificate is awarded to the individual(s) and they are invited as Professional Care Associate(s) into our Network.

Step 7:
A start-up date is established so that Serenity Care for Seniors Inc. and the Professional Care Associate can start to consider referral options.

Note: It is imperative that all of the hiring documentation is complete and up-to-date as the Applicant moves through each of the Phases. The length of the hiring process is dependent upon the individuals level of interest, time commitment, scheduling, etc.

The "Professional Associate Care Associate Network"

Many individuals & families are recognizing that "Fostering Seniors" can 'enrich' their lives as much as the seniors they will care for. This is a great LIFESTYLE and CAREER opportunity, especially when an appropriate match can be made between the Professional Care Associate (Fostering Family) and the Senior(s).

Once Professional Care Associates have been approved/Certified to "Foster Seniors" in their family home, they are eligible to join PCAN (Professional Care Associate Network). This is a Global Network dedicated to supporting Professional Care Associates care for seniors as part of their LIFESTYLE and CAREER.

The Network is comprised of two distinct groups:

(1) Members (Free membership - included in initial Administration Fee) :

Professional Care Associates

(2) Associate-Members ($25.00 Annual Fee):

Regional team members, staff, consultants, people thinking about "Fostering Seniors," individuals, friends, colleagues, seniors, families, professionals, community groups, organizations, business, government, and the community-at-large who support our vision and remain committed to helping us "Change the way we care for seniors long-term."

Our Network continues to explode with interest from folks around the Globe. Our Network is a viable, sustainable coalition of Members/Associate Members where we share a similar voice in the reform of traditional long-term care for seniors.

Members and Associate-Members share our vision as the GLOBAL LEADER in "Fostering Seniors through the development of alternative family care homes in communities around the Globe." Everyone agrees that our program is inspiring, exciting, and a mandatory program as a long-term care solution for seniors.

Join us and share your voice! Send your thoughts, ideas, opinions and recommendations to info@serenitycare.ca.

The louder and stronger our voice, the greater success we will have towards making a SOCIAL IMPACT in "Changing how we care for seniors long-term."

Our focus on "Fostering Seniors" is a viable, affordable and familial-focused long-term care solution which will become the essential back-bone in long-term care.

"Nuts & Bolts"

You will be pleased to know that we have added a "Nuts & Bolts" section on this site which will be designed to answer questions specific to your experience of "Fostering Seniors." We often get questions from prospective and new caregivers asking for more information about the experience of "Fostering Seniors" as they develop their home to accommodate the care of 1 or 2 seniors.

Our Nuts & Bolts" section will be designed to promote communication within the Network, to empower fostering families to e-mail us asking important questions that might not have already been asked (and responsed to in a timely fashion). These questions, and their responses, are relevant and are posted so that they are available to our entire Network.

When sending your questions address them to Jim, at: info@serenitycare.ca. Your question, and our response, will be posted on the site.

Thankyou

As our Professional Care Associate Network expands Serenity Care for Seniors Inc. is receiving widespread recognition and is quickly becoming a household name.

I would personally like to thank each and every person/family member who has opened their 'homes and their hearts' in considering caring for a senior in their home. Your experiences, commitment, and exemplary care for the senior(s) in your home sets the standard and allows us to expand this level of care for seniors.

As I travel across Ontario (and beyond) meeting families the sense of community is growing tremendously. As our Professional Care Associate Network grows so does our Corporate Management Team. We are conscious and sensitive to our ability to manage our growth and take every effort to ensure that our Professional Care Associate Network feel supported and a significant part of our TEAM.

Media Attention

Our first of many MEDIA ARTICLES. On Saturday July 26, 2008 an article was written about our senior care program in the St. Catherines Standard.

As a result, we have had a number of phones calls from individuals & families who are interested in 'fostering' a senior in their home.

Thanks Linda for the article. It was well-written and right on!

Enriching Lives

At Serenity Care for Seniors Inc. we believe we are in the business of "Enriching Lives." Enriching the lives of seniors, their family, our fostering families, our regional team members, other professionals, and the community-at-large.

Last month in Ontario we recognized June (08) as 'seniors month.' At Serenity Care for Seniors Inc. we believe that every month is seniors month. In fact, we believe that we should celebrate each other every day. How many times do you feel you have been 'overlooked?' How many times do you feel you have 'overlooked' someone else? Moreover, how much do you think our aging population gets 'overlooked?'

Starting August 01, 2008 we empower and challenge each and every one of our Professional Care Associate Network Members to promote our alternative family care program for seniors
to their colleagues, family & friends, and the community-at-large. If each of us does our part then we are closer to (a) not overlooking those who need our care and (b) enriching more lives
in our community.
Join us in "changing the way we care for seniors long-term."
